Juan Baños is an interdisciplinary artist and educator born in Spain. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the USA, China, Mexico, and Europe, and is part of numerous private collections, museums, and public institutions.

Baños’s practice is primarily characterized by large-scale paintings and installations that explore themes ranging from everyday reality to the timeless—depicting fear, inner landscapes, dreams, and the energy of people and objects. His most recent compositions present structures where robotics and painting dance in a strange sensation of artificial life.

Baños holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Granada (Spain) and an MFA from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). He currently lives and works in Chicago, where he teaches painting and drawing at the university.
