Daniel Silvo
Artist, Drawing, Photography, Video
Cadiz, Spain
Daniel Silvo (Cádiz, 1982) is a visual artist, a tireless observer of everything that surrounds him. With everyday elements, he seeks a narrative that goes beyond the object itself. He manages to transform some objects or actions into different representations through videos, photographs or drawings. In his works, the formal and careful appearance of his narratives acquires special importance, endowing them with a playful sense that makes them capable of functioning on their own.
He is currently a Doctor of Fine Arts from the UCM and a professor at the Francisco de Vitoria University.
Among his numerous participations, the solo exhibitions at the Fondation Suisse in Paris (2015), the Isabel Hurley gallery in Malaga (2014) or the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico (2013) stand out. On the other hand, his curatorships in Tabacalera (2015), Place a Doubt (2014) or the CDAV of Havana (2010) show his great interest in Latin America. Until recently he was responsible for the artistic direction of the contemporary art fairs JustMAD and JustXL, in Madrid and Lisbon. Now, he continues in artistic management through Atelier Solar and Galería Nueva, an unprecedented space in the capital, based in Doctor Fourquet.
