LUIS CEMILLÁN – Curatorial Texts

I am currently a PhD student in the Media Research programme at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where I graduated with a degree in Audiovisual Communication between 2013 and 2017. My line of work focuses on the study of the Spanish audiovisual (especially the film industry) and the problems of memory, politics and representation. However, on a more personal level, I have always felt a special affection for work on political violence, the image and pain, as well as the relationship between plastic and audiovisual representation. Thus, between 2017-2018, I studied for a Master’s degree in Art History and Visual Culture at the Autonomous and Complutense Universities of Madrid and the Reina Sofía Art Museum. Outside of the academic sphere, the use of analogue photography also forms part of my interests.

Since 2020, I have been writing curatorial texts for PROYECTOR.
