A 15 minutos de Los Asperones

La propuesta a 15 minutos de Los Asperones is part of a multidisciplinary research project developed in the neighborhood of Los Asperones, Málaga. The project is structured around two main levels: on one hand, it presents a territorial and sociocultural analysis of the neighborhood in the form of a documentary built around a series of interviews; on the other hand, it features a video performance— a poetic action that rises from the power of utopia and myth.

Based on the urban theory of the “15-minute city,” which explores the idea of a sustainable urban environment, the project adopts a spatial-temporal measurement in which every citizen should have access—by foot or bicycle—to essential services within fifteen minutes. How far are the residents of Los Asperones from this standard? Starting from the neighborhood and extending within a 15-minute radius, we explore this marginal zone of the city of Málaga, where over 150 families daily simulate the act of inhabiting.
