Caminantes

Caminantes is an installation-based animation piece that condenses my experience during my residency at the Maison des Auteurs and BilbaoArte Fundazioa, focusing on process, space, and materiality as intrinsic parts of the work. The piece was created using 500 A5 sheets to produce an animated video with a duration of 41.6 seconds, incorporating the paper’s margins, the animation’s registration marks, and the behind-the-scenes elements where the photographs were taken. It includes what is usually left out in animation, giving central importance to the material and highlighting the spaces of various showcases and walls in Bilbao and Angoulême as a parallel narrative that accompanies and strengthens the movement of the drawings. The two-month residency was translated into 500 drawings, which were condensed into 41.6 seconds of video and later unfolded across 21 square meters.
