Hablar no es ver II

The video was presented as part of the project “Inhabiting the Cut, Alter/ing the Voice”, shown at the Centro Cultural de España in Mexico in 2022, during the second edition of the sound experimentation series “One Ear Alone Is Not a Being”, curated by Llorenç Barber.

The project explored some of the artistic practices I have developed over more than a decade in relation to speech as a recipient of displaced violence. It traced hidden forms of violence within speech and questioned their disruptions in the voice, paying particular attention to the cut as a driving force for research processes, to otherness as rupture and opening of expression, and to speech and its pathologies as elements for negotiating meaning.
