In recent years, we have witnessed the gentrification of peripheral and historic neighborhoods in many European cities, where a radical neoliberal model of urban expansion predominates, creating spatial, economic, and social imbalances. This is the case of Vallecas, a working-class, humble, and socially engaged neighborhood located on the outskirts of Madrid.

Today, Vallecas has become a point of interest for developers, construction firms, real estate institutions, businesses, and shops aimed at wealthier segments of the population. In this context, the idea emerges to build a visual discourse from peripheral imagery to confront these issues and foster debate around gentrification in Vallecas.

Ultimately, this video offers a critical reflection on the possibility of creating new paths, alternative anthologies, and previously unseen maps that express images, experiences, and stories born from the cracks in the gentrification system.
