Opaline
Fun Facts of Movie
The title Opalina evokes a delicate, milky glass object that reflects the theme of this experimental short film—the precious yet fragile time of childhood. In this piece, the child caught in the midst of a family storm becomes the living archive of an unutterable violence. The images that make up this visual poem were first captured with a still camera, then transferred to Super 8 film and hand-painted. In a motionless, anxiety-ridden daily life, the dripping color across the film restores movement.
