He combined his studies in psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid with film studies at the Tai School. He continued his film studies at the NYFA in New York and in Barcelona, where he completed a Master\u2019s degree in Creative Documentary at the Pompeu Fabra University. He has completed video creation courses at the Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnst in Berlin and workshops with artists and filmmakers such as Joan Jonas, Pedro Costa, V\u00edctor Erice, Jos\u00e9 Luis Guer\u00edn and Daniel Canogar. He has also collaborated in the second feature film by director Mercedes \u00c1lvarez, Mercat de Futurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His videos and installations have been shown in art centres such as the Centro Cultural San Mart\u00edn (Buenos Aires), Casa Encendida (Madrid), CCCB (Barcelona), and his films have been screened in film festivals such as Locarno (Switzerland), Rotterdam (The Netherlands), New York Film Festival (USA), BAFICI (Argentina), Viennale (Austria), Rencontres Internationales Paris\/Berlin\/Madrid, which took place at the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin) and the Museo Reina Sof\u00eda (Madrid). With his work \u2018Monta\u00f1a en sombra\u2019 he won prizes at the Oberhausen Festival and Clermont-Ferrand, among others. And at the 66th Locarno Festival he received the award for best emerging director with his feature film \u2018Costa da Morte\u2019. This work has also received awards at festivals such as the Festival dei Popoli (Italy), Valdivia FF (Chile) and the Seville European Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
