In this proposal for a cinematographic installation it is inevitable to go directly to the Marcel Duchamp reference and at the end of the “ready made”, use an everyday object to create an artistic work, without hiding the origin of the object.

In particular, Out of Field, enters into what Duchamp calls “reciprocal ready made”, given that the object changes its function by extracting it from its usual use, by separating it from everyday use and placing it in another space if its connotation changes. and they fall “deterritorialized.”

This film installation presents several layers: a physical layer, which is the ceramic sink, to which is added a second layer, the video (loop image) of the sinks, which allows the object to shine with the light of This is an image in color, which surrounds us and creates a third layer, where that hybrid between the physical and the projected emerges. The fourth cover is the projection of the Fuera de Campo video, which is displayed on the wall in front of the sculptural object.

The visual is complemented by an acoustic layer (soundscape), in which the spaced and intermittent sounds of opening and closing the sink faucet, the flow of water through the siphon, transport us to the “everyday” relationship, subject – object. , which, in this case, refers to a situation “idealized” by families in settlements that lack public services.

The use of the washing machine, that “useful object” that we believe is in every home in Colombia; It goes from being seen as a useful object for everyday use, to an object that offers us a critical and reflective perspective on a problem of inequality.

In the installation, when using the concept of “found object” there is a double meaning, given that, in the end, the washed hand is an object that appears “outside the field”, without leaving the usual place, and at the same time, when placed in a space just for the sake of it, will refer us to one of my objectives, which is to highlight how this valuable object is not part of the home of the families that live in settlements in Colombia.

Este 2025 viene cargado de imagen en movimiento con una nueva edición del Festival PROYECTOR: Nuevos Premios Hertzog Da Silva y la 3ª Edición de VERTICAL <25

La plataforma PROYECTOR exhibe y distribuye las propuestas más experimentales y actuales del panorama internacional. El Festival se identifica por sus obras no cinemanormativas, piezas al margen de las propuestas tradicionales que se acogen al espacio y al espectador activo que las observa.

Del 10 al 21 de septiembre de 2025, más de veinte espacios de la ciudad de Madrid se entrecruzan mostrando nuevos lenguajes y formatos a través de unas 100 piezas de cine expandido, performance, videoarte, piezas site specific, interactivas y obras únicas que veremos en primicia en el Festival.

PROYECTOR colabora, tanto con espacios independientes, como consolidados, pasando desde las zonas céntricas a los barrios colindantes de la capital. Inundamos estas sedes con propuestas de videoarte tanto comisariadas por la plataforma PROYECTOR como por las propias galerías y museos que forman parte del Recorrido OFF.

Asimismo, PROYECTOR también colabora con festivales del sector del videoarte experimental y la imagen en movimiento como Loops.Expanded, FIVA, PLAY o Fonlad.

En su 18ª edición, vuelven los Premios Hertzog Da Silva. Contamos con 6 premios que se repartirán entre las piezas seleccionadas a través de la convocatoria pública por el jurado de esta edición. Cada año, el jurado está formado por profesionales internacionales especializados en videoarte experimental. Para esta edición, el jurado incluye tanto artistas como comisarios.

Gracias a Hertzog Da Silva, lanzamos —por segundo año— la convocatoria para jóvenes creadores que piensan en vertical: VERTICAL <25. Con un nuevo sistema de votación pública a través de redes sociales, tú podrás ayudar a elegir al ganador/a de una residencia de producción en 2026.

PROYECTOR continúa apostando por la escena contemporánea madrileña, colaborando con la Plataforma de Espacios Independientes de Creación Contemporánea, con 10 nuevos espacios este año y, por primera vez, abriendo las puertas a los estudios de artistas.

El festival apuesta por la igualdad y la internacionalización de una cultura libre y accesible. Por ello, cada año, más de la mitad de las obras seleccionadas son de artistas mujeres de hasta 30 países diferentes, y todas las actividades son gratuitas.

Además, todos los eventos —inauguraciones, charlas, performances, talleres— se transmitirán en streaming (YouTube y Vimeo) para garantizar la accesibilidad internacional.

La plataforma colabora con universidades, ofreciendo a las nuevas generaciones la oportunidad de formarse e integrarse en el sector cultural.
